About Hidocort Cream
Hidocort Cream contains Hydrocortisone 1%, a low-potency (Class VII) topical corticosteroid suitable for sensitive skin areas including the face, intertriginous folds, paediatric use and short-term use during pregnancy.
It is indicated for mild eczema, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, anal pruritus and other mild inflammatory dermatoses.

Mechanism of Action
Hydrocortisone is the prototype natural glucocorticoid. It binds cytoplasmic glucocorticoid receptors, induces lipocortin-1 production, and suppresses phospholipase A2 — blocking arachidonic-acid-derived prostaglandins and leukotrienes. As a low-potency steroid it is suitable for prolonged use and sensitive sites.
