About Mirtawise-7.5 Tablet
Mirtawise-7.5 Tablet contains Mirtazapine 7.5 mg — paradoxically the lower dose has stronger sedative and appetite-stimulating effects (H1 antagonism). Particularly useful in depression with insomnia, weight loss, and elderly patients with anorexia.

Mechanism of Action
Mirtazapine is a NaSSA (Noradrenergic and Specific Serotonergic Antidepressant) — antagonises alpha-2 adrenoceptors increasing NE and 5-HT release, while blocking 5-HT2 and 5-HT3 receptors. Strong H1 antagonism causes sedation and appetite stimulation at low doses.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 7.5 mg at bedtime, may increase to 15–45 mg.
Side Effects
Sedation (paradoxically less at higher doses), weight gain, dry mouth, constipation, rare neutropenia.
