Mechanism of Action
Paroxetine is an SSRI antidepressant — selectively inhibits presynaptic serotonin reuptake (SERT). Also has mild anticholinergic and noradrenergic reuptake inhibition. Effective in depression, anxiety disorders, PMDD, OCD, PTSD. Highest discontinuation symptoms among SSRIs due to short half-life and active metabolites.

Adults: 20–50 mg once daily in morning.
