About Sitawise-MG 50/1000/1 SR Tablet
Sitawise-MG 50/1000/1 SR Tablet contains Sitagliptin 50 mg + Metformin 1000 mg (SR) + Glimepiride 1 mg. Sitagliptin is the prototype DPP-4 inhibitor with weight-neutral, low-hypoglycaemia-risk profile. The Sitawise range offers Sitagliptin alone and in fixed-dose combinations with Metformin, Dapagliflozin and other agents.
Indicated for type-2 diabetes mellitus as monotherapy or in fixed-dose combinations for additional glycaemic intensification.

Mechanism of Action
Sitagliptin selectively inhibits DPP-4, prolonging the action of incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP. This increases glucose-dependent insulin secretion and suppresses glucagon, providing glycaemic control without hypoglycaemia in non-eugenic states. Weight-neutral, well-tolerated profile. Glimepiride is a sulphonylurea that stimulates pancreatic insulin secretion via K-ATP channel closure. The triple combination addresses incretin enhancement, hepatic glucose output and insulin secretion.
