About Telmicam-BS 40/5 Tablet
Telmicam-BS 40/5 Tablet contains Telmisartan 40 mg + Bisoprolol 5 mg. Telmisartan is an ARB with the longest half-life (24h) and additional PPAR-γ activity providing metabolic benefits.
Indicated for essential hypertension and cardiovascular event prevention in high-risk patients (ONTARGET trial).

Mechanism of Action
Telmisartan is a selective angiotensin-II type-1 (AT1) receptor antagonist with the longest half-life among ARBs (24 hours). It blocks vasoconstriction, aldosterone release and sympathetic activation mediated by angiotensin II. The PRoFESS and ONTARGET trials confirmed cardio-renoprotective benefit. Bisoprolol is a highly cardioselective beta-1 blocker. ARB + beta-blocker FDC is DCGI-approved for hypertension with cardiac comorbidity.
