About Mefrut-Spas Tablet
Mefrut-Spas Tablet combines Mefenamic Acid 250 mg with Dicyclomine 10 mg — for primary dysmenorrhoea with severe uterine cramping. Mefenamic Acid reduces prostaglandin-mediated pain; Dicyclomine directly relaxes uterine smooth muscle.

Mechanism of Action
Mefenamic Acid is a fenamate-class NSAID — non-selective COX-1 and COX-2 inhibitor with additional antagonism at peripheral prostaglandin receptors. Particularly effective for menorrhagia and primary dysmenorrhoea due to additional effect on endometrial prostaglandin signalling. Dicyclomine adds direct smooth muscle relaxation reducing uterine and intestinal cramping.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 1 tablet 2–3 times daily during menstruation.
Side Effects
GI upset, dyspepsia, diarrhoea (common with Mefenamic), peptic ulcer, headache, dizziness, drowsiness. Dry mouth, drowsiness (Dicyclomine).
Contraindications & Precautions
Active peptic ulcer, severe inflammatory bowel disease, severe heart/hepatic/renal failure, third-trimester pregnancy, aspirin-sensitive asthma. Narrow-angle glaucoma, severe GI obstruction.
