About Clindacam-300 Capsule
Clindacam-300 Capsule contains Clindamycin 300 mg, a lincosamide antibiotic with excellent activity against gram-positive cocci (including community-acquired MRSA), anaerobes and selected protozoa. Particularly used for severe skin and soft-tissue infections, dental abscess, anaerobic infections and as an alternative in penicillin-allergic patients.
Clindamycin is a recommended option for community-acquired MRSA skin infections, severe dental infections and as part of toxic-shock-syndrome management (for its toxin-suppression properties). Clostridioides difficile colitis is a well-known risk requiring patient counselling.

Mechanism of Action
Clindamycin binds the 50S bacterial ribosomal subunit, inhibiting protein synthesis. Bacteriostatic but bactericidal at high concentrations. Inhibits bacterial exotoxin production (relevant in toxic shock syndrome and necrotising fasciitis).
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 300–450 mg four times daily for 7–14 days. Severe infections: up to 600 mg four times daily. Take with adequate water (avoid oesophageal irritation).
Side Effects
Diarrhoea (sometimes Clostridioides difficile colitis — counsel patient on red-flag symptoms), nausea, metallic taste, rash. Rare: pseudomembranous colitis, severe hepatotoxicity, Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
Contraindications & Precautions
Hypersensitivity to lincosamides. History of Clostridioides difficile colitis. Severe hepatic impairment.
