About Iromac-5 Drops

Mechanism of Action
Iron is absorbed in duodenum and proximal jejunum. The drops form is suitable for infants whose iron stores deplete around 4–6 months when exclusive breastfeeding is no longer iron-adequate.
Dosage & Administration
Infants/Children: 1–2 mg/kg/day in divided doses. Use dropper as prescribed.
Side Effects
Constipation, dark stools, metallic taste, occasional nausea. Generally well tolerated with food. Stool darkening, occasional vomiting in infants.
Contraindications & Precautions
Iron overload disorders (haemochromatosis, thalassaemia), peptic ulcer, megaloblastic anaemia without B12 supplementation, pernicious anaemia.
