About Cofar-XL Drops
Cofar-XL Drops provides paediatric drop formulation of Levosalbutamol + Ambroxol + Guaifenesin per ml, with calibrated dropper for accurate infant dosing. Used for infant bronchiolitis and wheezing where lower cardiac side-effect profile is preferred over Terbutaline.
Levosalbutamol provides bronchodilation with significantly fewer cardiac side effects (tremor, tachycardia) than Terbutaline — particularly important in infants where weight-based dosing is critical.
Manufactured by Trumac Healthcare under WHO-GMP. Available for monopoly-based PCD pharma franchise and third-party manufacturing.
Indications
- Infant bronchiolitis
- Wheezing in viral URI
- Early infant bronchospastic cough
Mechanism of Action
Levosalbutamol (R-enantiomer of salbutamol) selectively activates β2 receptors with fewer cardiac effects. Ambroxol reduces mucus viscosity. Guaifenesin enhances mucus clearance.
Dosage & Administration
Infants 6 months+: 0.5–1 ml three times daily by calibrated dropper. As advised by paediatrician.
Side Effects
Less tremor than Terbutaline. Mild irritability possible.
Contraindications & Precautions
Hypersensitivity. Tachyarrhythmias.

Store below 30 °C in a dry place, protected from light.
