About Efcon-150 Tablet
Efcon-150 Tablet contains Fluconazole 150 mg — the standard single-dose oral antifungal for uncomplicated vaginal candidiasis. Single 150 mg dose provides effective cure for most Candida albicans vaginal infections. Also used as a single dose for oral candidiasis and short courses for tinea infections.
Fluconazole has excellent oral bioavailability and long half-life supporting single-dose therapy. It’s the antifungal of choice for vaginal candidiasis worldwide.

Mechanism of Action
Fluconazole inhibits fungal cytochrome P450-dependent 14-alpha-demethylase, blocking ergosterol biosynthesis — essential component of fungal cell membrane. Results in cell membrane disruption and fungal cell death.
Dosage & Administration
Vaginal candidiasis: single 150 mg dose. Tinea: 150 mg weekly for 2–4 weeks. Oral candidiasis: 150 mg as advised.
Side Effects
GI upset, headache, rash. Rare: hepatotoxicity, QT prolongation.
Contraindications & Precautions
Hypersensitivity. Concurrent terfenadine, cisapride, pimozide (QT prolongation). Severe hepatic impairment.
