About Livot-AM Tablet
Livot-AM Tablet combines Montelukast 10 mg + Levocetirizine 5 mg + Ambroxol 75 mg — triple-action for allergic cough with thick mucus. Montelukast targets leukotriene-driven inflammation, Levocetirizine blocks H1 receptors, Ambroxol thins mucus for easier expectoration.
Manufactured by Trumac Healthcare under WHO-GMP. Available for monopoly-based PCD pharma franchise and third-party manufacturing.
Indications
- Allergic cough with productive sputum
- Allergic bronchitis
- Asthma with thick mucus
- Post-viral cough with congestion
Mechanism of Action
Levocetirizine is the active R-enantiomer of cetirizine — a selective second-generation H1 antihistamine. Higher H1 receptor affinity than cetirizine with lower brain penetration — minimal sedation. Onset 30 minutes, duration 24 hours. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor (CysLT1) antagonist — blocks effects of leukotrienes D4 produced from mast cells and eosinophils. Reduces bronchoconstriction, mucus hypersecretion and oedema characteristic of allergic asthma and rhinitis. Ambroxol stimulates surfactant production and reduces mucus viscosity by depolymerising mucopolysaccharide fibres — facilitating expectoration.
