About Oseltru Suspension
Oseltru Suspension provides Oseltamivir 12 mg/ml after reconstitution — for paediatric influenza A and B treatment and prophylaxis. Should be started within 48 hours of symptom onset for maximum efficacy. Approved for infants >2 weeks.

Mechanism of Action
Oseltamivir is a neuraminidase inhibitor — blocks the viral enzyme that cleaves sialic acid from infected cell surface, preventing release of progeny virions. Active against influenza A and B viruses, including H1N1 and H5N1. Most effective when started within 48 hours of symptom onset.
Dosage & Administration
Children: weight-based dosing — 3 mg/kg twice daily for treatment (5 days), once daily for prophylaxis (10 days).
Side Effects
GI upset (most common), neuropsychiatric symptoms (rare paediatric), hypersensitivity rash.

Hypersensitivity, severe renal impairment (dose adjust), end-stage renal failure on dialysis.
