About Ozawise-5 Tablet
Ozawise-5 Tablet contains Olanzapine 5 mg — atypical antipsychotic for schizophrenia, bipolar I disorder (acute mania and maintenance), and as adjunct to antidepressants in treatment-resistant depression. The lower starting dose with elderly or first-episode patients.

Mechanism of Action
Olanzapine antagonises multiple receptors including 5-HT2A (predominantly), D1-D4 (dopamine), H1 (histamine), M1-M5 (muscarinic), and alpha-1 adrenergic. Lower EPS than typical antipsychotics due to 5-HT2A/D2 ratio.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 5–10 mg once daily at bedtime, titrate to 10–20 mg.
Side Effects
Weight gain, sedation, metabolic syndrome (diabetes, dyslipidaemia), anticholinergic effects, hyperprolactinaemia (less than risperidone), rare neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
Contraindications & Precautions
Narrow-angle glaucoma, paralytic ileus, BPH with urinary retention, severe Parkinson's disease, elderly with dementia (increased mortality).
