About Panor-D 40 Tablet (10×10)
Panor-D 40 Tablet provides Pantoprazole 40 mg + Domperidone 10 mg — standard GERD therapy with bloating, post-prandial dyspepsia, and functional dyspepsia. Most prescribed PPI-prokinetic combination.

Mechanism of Action
Pantoprazole irreversibly inhibits gastric H+/K+ ATPase (proton pump) at parietal cell secretory canaliculi — markedly suppressing both basal and stimulated acid secretion. Lower CYP450 interaction profile than Omeprazole. Onset 1 hour, duration 24 hours. Domperidone is a peripheral D2 receptor antagonist enhancing upper GI motility, accelerating gastric emptying, and increasing LOS tone without crossing the blood-brain barrier.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 1 tablet once daily before breakfast.
Side Effects
Headache, diarrhoea, abdominal pain. Long-term: B12 deficiency, hypomagnesaemia, fracture risk (hip), C. difficile colitis, interstitial nephritis (rare). Hyperprolactinaemia, QT prolongation (Domperidone — short-term use).
Contraindications & Precautions
Hypersensitivity. Caution in severe hepatic impairment, osteoporosis (long-term), on clopidogrel (less interaction than omeprazole). Prolactinoma, QT prolongation.
