Mechanism of Action
Fexofenadine is a non-sedating second-generation H1 antihistamine — active metabolite of terfenadine. Minimal CNS penetration (no sedation), no anticholinergic effects, no QT prolongation. Preferred antihistamine for drivers and operators of heavy machinery.
Dosage & Administration
Children 2–11 years: 30 mg twice daily.
Side Effects
Headache, drowsiness (minimal), nausea, back pain. Very well tolerated.
