About Trulika Alkaliser
Trulika Alkaliser is a urinary pH-modifying syrup containing Disodium Hydrogen Citrate 1.37 g per 5 ml. It raises urinary pH and is the standard symptomatic treatment for acid urine that causes dysuria, burning micturition and supports dissolution of uric-acid stones.
It is widely prescribed in lower-UTI symptoms, gout with uric-acid nephropathy, post-chemotherapy tumour-lysis prophylaxis and during sulpha-drug courses to prevent crystalluria.

Mechanism of Action
Disodium Hydrogen Citrate is rapidly metabolised in the liver to bicarbonate, which is excreted by the kidneys — raising urinary pH towards 6.5–7.5. The alkalinised urine increases solubility of uric acid (pKa 5.4) and cysteine, dissolving existing stones and preventing new precipitation. It also reduces the local irritant effect of acidic urine on the inflamed urothelium, providing symptomatic relief in dysuria.
