About Dapacam-5 Tablet

Mechanism of Action
Dapagliflozin is a selective SGLT2 inhibitor — blocks renal glucose reabsorption causing glucosuria. Beyond glycaemic control: reduces CV death and HF hospitalisation (DAPA-HF trial), preserves renal function (DAPA-CKD). Now recommended for HFrEF and CKD regardless of diabetes.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 5–10 mg once daily.
Side Effects
Genital mycotic infections, UTI, polyuria, hypovolaemia, euglycaemic DKA (rare).
Contraindications & Precautions
Type 1 diabetes, severe renal impairment (eGFR <25 ml/min for diabetes; lower for HF/CKD), recurrent UTI/genital infections, dialysis.
