About Itrabin Tablet
Itrabin Tablet combines the systemic triazole Itraconazole 100 mg with the systemic allylamine Terbinafine 250 mg. The pairing addresses recalcitrant dermatophyte infections, particularly the chronic relapsing tinea epidemic in India where monotherapy has shown high failure rates.
It is indicated for chronic recurrent tinea corporis/cruris, recalcitrant onychomycosis, deep dermatophyte infections and resistant pityriasis versicolor.

Mechanism of Action
Itraconazole inhibits fungal 14-α-demethylase, blocking ergosterol synthesis. Terbinafine inhibits squalene epoxidase (earlier in the pathway), causing toxic squalene accumulation. The dual oral combination targets two sequential enzyme steps, providing additive activity and reducing resistance risk.
