About Oxalen-25 Tablet
Oxalen-25 Tablet contains Trioxsalen 25 mg, a furocoumarin photosensitiser used in oral PUVA therapy. Trioxsalen has less GI toxicity than methoxsalen, making it preferred for some patients.
Indicated for vitiligo, psoriasis and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (mycosis fungoides — early stages) under specialist dermatologist supervision.

Mechanism of Action
Trioxsalen intercalates between DNA base pairs. On UVA exposure (320–400 nm), it forms covalent cross-links with thymine on opposite DNA strands, halting DNA synthesis in dividing cells. In vitiligo, it stimulates melanocyte repopulation; in psoriasis it suppresses hyperproliferative keratinocytes.
