Mechanism of Action

Dosage & Administration
- Adults and children > 12 years: 1 capsule three times daily.
- Course typically 5–7 days, longer for severe infections.
- Take with water;

Side Effects
- Mild GI upset, nausea, mild rash.
- Lower incidence of diarrhoea compared with plain Amoxicillin.
- Rare: hypersensitivity reactions, pseudomembranous colitis with prolonged use, anaphylaxis.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins or any beta-lactam.
- Infectious mononucleosis.
