About Nicoron-3 Tablet
Nicoron-3 Tablet contains Acenocoumarol (Nicoumalone) 3 mg. Acenocoumarol (Nicoumalone) is a coumarin-derivative oral anticoagulant — vitamin K antagonist that inhibits hepatic synthesis of clotting factors II, VII, IX and X.
Indicated for non-valvular atrial fibrillation, prosthetic heart-valve thromboprophylaxis, deep vein thrombosis treatment and pulmonary embolism, with regular INR monitoring.

Mechanism of Action
Acenocoumarol competitively inhibits vitamin K epoxide reductase, preventing regeneration of active vitamin K. This blocks the gamma-carboxylation of vitamin-K-dependent clotting factors II, VII, IX and X — reducing their functional activity and producing anticoagulation.
