About Camicold-Forte Syrup (60ml)
Camicold-Forte Syrup is a Paracetamol-free anti-cold syrup for children, providing Chlorpheniramine Maleate 2 mg and Phenylephrine 5 mg per 5 ml. The formulation is specifically designed for children who may already be receiving Paracetamol separately or where fever is not the predominant symptom — focusing on nasal congestion, rhinitis and sneezing without duplication of antipyretic.
Without the Paracetamol component, Camicold-Forte allows physicians to titrate fever-reducing medication separately based on the child’s temperature curve, while continuously addressing rhinorrhoea and congestion. The syrup format is palatable and well-accepted by children.

Mechanism of Action
Chlorpheniramine blocks H1 histamine receptors, reducing histamine-mediated rhinitis, sneezing and pruritus, and has additional drying effect on mucosal secretions. Phenylephrine activates alpha-1 adrenergic receptors in nasal mucosa for vasoconstriction and decongestion.
Dosage & Administration
Children 2–6 years: 2.5 ml three times daily. Children 6–12 years: 5 ml three times daily. As advised by paediatrician.
Side Effects
Drowsiness, dry mouth, irritability, nausea. Rare paradoxical excitation in young children (CPM). Avoid in glaucoma and urinary retention.
Contraindications & Precautions
Hypersensitivity. Severe hypertension or coronary disease. MAOI use. Children under 2 years. Narrow-angle glaucoma. Urinary retention.
