About Uticam Sachet
Uticam Tablet is a non-antibiotic nutraceutical combining Cranberry Extract 300 mg (standardised for proanthocyanidins) and D-Mannose 600 mg. Both ingredients work by preventing E. coli adhesion to the urothelium.
It is widely used for prevention of recurrent urinary tract infections (UTI), particularly in women with frequent cystitis, post-coital UTIs and in patients who wish to reduce reliance on prophylactic antibiotics.

Mechanism of Action
Cranberry proanthocyanidins (PACs), particularly Type-A PACs, prevent fimbrial (P-type) adhesion of uropathogenic E. coli to urothelial mannose receptors. D-Mannose, a simple sugar excreted unchanged in urine, binds the FimH lectin on Type-1 fimbriae of E. coli — coating the bacterial adhesin and preventing attachment to bladder uroepithelium. Bacteria unable to adhere are flushed out during voiding, reducing infection initiation.
Dosage & Administration
