About Gynocyp Tablet
Gynocyp Tablet combines Cyproterone Acetate 2 mg with Ethinyl Estradiol 35 mcg — an anti-androgenic combined oral contraceptive used primarily for hirsutism, severe acne, and androgen-driven PCOS symptoms in women requiring contraception.
Cyproterone blocks androgen receptors and reduces ovarian and adrenal androgen production. The estradiol component additionally raises sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), reducing free testosterone.
Manufactured by Trumac Healthcare under WHO-GMP. Available for monopoly-based PCD pharma franchise and third-party manufacturing.
Indications
- Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) with androgen excess
- Moderate-to-severe acne in women
- Idiopathic hirsutism
- Seborrhoea and androgenetic alopecia (female)
Mechanism of Action
Cyproterone Acetate is a steroidal anti-androgen — competitively blocks androgen receptors and additionally suppresses pituitary LH (reducing ovarian androgen production). Ethinyl Estradiol inhibits ovulation and increases SHBG levels, reducing free testosterone bioavailability.
