About Danawise-100 Capsule
Danawise-100 Capsule contains Danazol 100 mg — a synthetic androgen derivative of ethisterone used for endometriosis, fibrocystic breast disease, hereditary angioedema and selected gynaecological conditions. Danazol suppresses pituitary gonadotropins and produces a hypoestrogenic state that causes endometriotic implants to atrophy.
Despite newer alternatives (GnRH agonists, dienogest), Danazol remains in use for selected patients particularly with hereditary angioedema where it has unique efficacy. Side effects related to androgenic activity (hirsutism, voice changes, weight gain) limit its first-line use in endometriosis.

Mechanism of Action
Danazol suppresses pituitary gonadotropin (LH/FSH) release, producing low-estrogen state. Direct effect on endometrial tissue causes atrophy of endometriotic implants. Modulates complement system in hereditary angioedema.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 200–800 mg/day in divided doses. Endometriosis: 400 mg/day for 6 months. Hereditary angioedema: 200 mg twice daily.
Side Effects
Weight gain, hirsutism, voice changes (potentially permanent), acne, fluid retention, hepatic enzyme elevation. Rare: thromboembolism, hepatic adenoma.

Pregnancy. Lactation. Severe hepatic/renal/cardiac dysfunction. Undiagnosed genital bleeding. Hormone-dependent cancer. Pediatric use.
