About Furowise-Plus 20/50 Tablet
Furowise-Plus Tablet combines the loop diuretic Furosemide 20 mg with the aldosterone antagonist Spironolactone 50 mg. The pairing provides robust diuresis while preserving potassium — useful in resistant fluid overload states.
It is widely used for cirrhotic ascites, refractory oedema of nephrotic syndrome, chronic heart failure with congestion, and any state where furosemide alone produces hypokalaemia.

Mechanism of Action
Furosemide inhibits the Na+/K+/2Cl- cotransporter in the thick ascending loop of Henle, producing potent natriuresis and water loss but also kaliuresis. Spironolactone competitively antagonises aldosterone at the distal tubule mineralocorticoid receptor, reducing sodium reabsorption and potassium loss. The combination achieves diuresis with relative potassium preservation.
