About Hidocort-100 Injection
Hidocort-100 Injection delivers Hydrocortisone 100 mg IV/IM — the first-line emergency corticosteroid for anaphylaxis, status asthmaticus, septic shock with adrenal insufficiency, and acute adrenal crisis. Onset within minutes via IV route.
Hydrocortisone (cortisol) has balanced glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid action — making it the preferred steroid in adrenal crisis where mineralocorticoid effects are needed.

Indications

Mechanism of Action
Hydrocortisone binds intracellular glucocorticoid receptors which translocate to nucleus altering gene transcription — suppressing inflammatory cytokines, reducing capillary permeability, stabilising lysosomes. Mineralocorticoid effect promotes sodium retention.
Dosage & Administration
100 mg IV/IM stat, then 100–200 mg every 6–8 hours.
Side Effects
Hyperglycaemia, hypokalaemia, fluid retention, immunosuppression, neuropsychiatric effects.
