About Ivercam-12 Tablet
Ivercam-12 Tablet contains Ivermectin 12 mg, an oral macrocyclic lactone antiparasitic. It has wide-ranging activity against ectoparasites (scabies, head lice) and endoparasites (strongyloides, filaria, onchocerca).
It is indicated for classic and crusted scabies (single or repeat dose), strongyloidiasis, lymphatic filariasis, onchocerciasis (river blindness) and mass-drug-administration programs.

Mechanism of Action
Ivermectin binds glutamate-gated chloride channels in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells, causing hyperpolarisation, paralysis and death of the parasite. Mammalian cells lack glutamate-gated chloride channels in the peripheral nervous system; ivermectin also has poor penetration of the mammalian blood-brain barrier (P-glycoprotein efflux), accounting for its safety in humans.
