About Macral-BN Cream
Macral-BN Cream is a triple-action preparation combining Ketoconazole 2% w/w (antifungal), Beclometasone Dipropionate 0.025% w/w (corticosteroid) and Neomycin 0.5% w/w (aminoglycoside antibiotic). Targets bacterial, fungal and inflammatory components simultaneously.
Indicated for inflamed infected dermatoses with mixed bacterial-fungal aetiology — short-course use only.

Mechanism of Action
Ketoconazole inhibits fungal 14-α-demethylase, blocking conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol. The resulting depletion of ergosterol and accumulation of toxic sterol intermediates disrupts fungal cell membrane integrity, producing fungistatic and fungicidal effect. Particularly active against Malassezia (seborrhoeic dermatitis, tinea versicolor) and dermatophytes. Beclometasone suppresses inflammation. Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits bacterial 30S ribosomal protein synthesis, covering Gram-positive and Gram-negative skin pathogens.
