About Labetor Injection
Labetor Injection delivers Labetalol 5 mg/ml IV — the preferred IV antihypertensive for hypertensive emergencies, severe pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and aortic dissection. Safe in pregnancy. Onset 5–10 minutes; duration 3–6 hours.
First-line in obstetric hypertensive emergencies per RCOG and FOGSI guidelines.

Mechanism of Action
Labetalol is a combined non-selective beta-blocker (β1 and β2) with selective alpha-1 blocker activity (β:α ratio about 3:1 oral, 7:1 IV). Lowers BP without reflex tachycardia. Safe in pregnancy — first-line for hypertensive emergencies in pregnancy and pheochromocytoma pre-op.
Dosage & Administration
Initial 20 mg IV slow over 2 minutes. Repeat 40–80 mg every 10 minutes (max cumulative 300 mg). Or infusion 0.5–2 mg/min titrated to BP.
Side Effects
Bradycardia, postural hypotension, bronchospasm, nausea, scalp tingling.
Contraindications & Precautions
Asthma, severe bradycardia, heart block (>1st degree), uncompensated heart failure, severe peripheral vascular disease.
