Mechanism of Action
Levofloxacin is the active L-isomer of ofloxacin — third-generation fluoroquinolone with enhanced gram-positive activity (Streptococcus pneumoniae). Excellent oral bioavailability (~99%) with once-daily dosing.

Adults: 500 mg IV once daily infused over 60 minutes.

GI upset, headache, dizziness, photosensitivity, tendon rupture, QT prolongation, dysglycaemia.
