Mechanism of Action
Piroxicam is an oxicam-class NSAID — non-selective COX-1/COX-2 inhibitor with long half-life (~50 hours) allowing once-daily dosing. Effective in rheumatic and inflammatory conditions but higher GI toxicity than newer NSAIDs.
