About Tracolim-Forte Ointment
Tracolim-Forte Ointment contains Tacrolimus 0.1% w/w, a topical calcineurin inhibitor — a steroid-free immunomodulator for atopic dermatitis. The 0.1% strength is for adults; children use 0.03%.
Indicated for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults, particularly for sensitive areas (face, eyelids, neck, intertriginous folds) where prolonged topical steroid use is undesirable.

Mechanism of Action
Tacrolimus binds FK506-binding protein (FKBP) in T-cells, forming a complex that inhibits calcineurin phosphatase. This blocks dephosphorylation of NFAT transcription factor, preventing IL-2 and other cytokine production — suppressing T-cell-mediated inflammation in eczematous skin.
