About Calimac Soft Gel Capsule
Calimac Soft Gel Capsule combines Calcium Carbonate 500 mg with Calcitriol 0.25 mcg and supporting minerals in a soft gelatin format. The combination provides immediate active vitamin D activity alongside well-absorbed calcium, with the soft-gel delivery ensuring excellent gastric tolerance and even dispersion.
Calcitriol is the biologically active 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 that does not require renal activation — particularly valuable in elderly patients, CKD patients and those with impaired vitamin D metabolism. The combination is widely prescribed in general practice, gynaecology, orthopaedics and nephrology for bone-health support.
Calimac Soft Gel is manufactured by Trumac Healthcare under WHO-GMP conditions. Available for monopoly-based PCD pharma franchise and third-party manufacturing.
Indications

- Pregnancy and lactation
- Renal osteodystrophy (adjunct)
- Post-menopausal bone-density support
- Geriatric calcium-vitamin D supplementation
Mechanism of Action
Calcitriol acts directly on vitamin D receptors to enhance intestinal calcium absorption without requiring renal hydroxylation. Calcium Carbonate provides elemental calcium, well absorbed in the gastric acid environment. Supporting minerals provide cofactors for bone-mineralisation enzymes.
