About Heparut IV Infusion
Heparut IV Infusion delivers L-Ornithine L-Aspartate 5 g intravenously — for acute hepatic encephalopathy management. IV LOLA is the standard initial therapy in grade II-III hepatic encephalopathy per recent guidelines.
Onset: ammonia-lowering within hours, with improvement in encephalopathy grade typically within 24–72 hours.

Mechanism of Action
L-Ornithine L-Aspartate (LOLA) provides amino acid substrates that drive ammonia detoxification via two complementary pathways — Ornithine fuels the hepatic urea cycle, and Aspartate supports glutamine synthesis in periportal hepatocytes and skeletal muscle. The result is lower blood ammonia and improvement in hepatic encephalopathy.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 20 g (4 ampoules) in 500 ml D5W or normal saline over 4 hours daily. Severe cases: up to 40 g/day.
Side Effects
Mild GI upset, nausea, vomiting. Rare hypersensitivity. Rapid infusion may cause vomiting.

Severe renal impairment (creatinine > 3 mg/dl), hypersensitivity. Caution in pregnancy. Severe renal impairment.
