About Ketogard Tablet
Ketogard Tablet provides Alpha Ketoanalogue with essential amino acids — used with low-protein diet in chronic kidney disease (Stage 3–5 pre-dialysis) to reduce uraemic burden while maintaining nitrogen balance. Slows CKD progression in clinical trials.
Keto-acids accept amino groups from non-essential amino acids — converting waste nitrogen back into useful amino acids.

Mechanism of Action
Alpha Ketoanalogues are nitrogen-free analogues of essential amino acids. They accept amino groups from urea nitrogen (transamination) — synthesising essential amino acids while reducing uraemic load. Permits very-low-protein diet without protein malnutrition.

Adults: 4–8 tablets three times daily with meals (proportional to weight, 0.1 g/kg/day).
Side Effects
Generally well tolerated. Rare hypercalcaemia (calcium content).
