About Methowise-7.5 Tablet

Mechanism of Action
Methotrexate is a folate antagonist — competitively inhibits dihydrofolate reductase blocking conversion of dihydrofolate to tetrahydrofolate. Reduces nucleic acid synthesis in rapidly dividing cells. In rheumatology used at low weekly doses with anti-inflammatory action; in oncology at higher doses for cytotoxic effect.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 7.5 mg ONCE WEEKLY (e.g., every Monday). Folic Acid 5 mg on other days.
Side Effects
GI upset, transaminase elevation, bone marrow suppression, mucositis, alopecia, pulmonary toxicity (rare). Hepatotoxicity with chronic use.
