About Obecam-10 Tablet
Obecam-10 Tablet contains Obeticholic Acid 10 mg — a farnesoid X receptor (FXR) agonist for primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) in adults with inadequate response to or intolerance of ursodeoxycholic acid. Also investigated for NASH and bile acid synthesis disorders.

Mechanism of Action
Obeticholic Acid is a semi-synthetic bile acid analogue that selectively activates farnesoid X receptor (FXR) — a nuclear receptor regulating bile acid synthesis, transport, hepatic gluconeogenesis and lipid metabolism. Reduces hepatic bile acid load in PBC.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 5 mg once daily, titrate to 10 mg after 3 months if tolerated. Dose-adjust in hepatic impairment.
Side Effects
Pruritus (very common — sometimes severe), fatigue, abdominal pain, dyslipidaemia, hepatic decompensation in advanced PBC.
Contraindications & Precautions
Decompensated cirrhosis, biliary obstruction, hypersensitivity. Caution with hepatic impairment (dose adjust).
