About Glizest-M 60/500 SR Tablet
Glizest-M 60/500 SR Tablet contains Gliclazide 60 mg + Metformin 500 mg. Gliclazide is a second-generation sulphonylurea with additional antioxidant and antiplatelet properties — making it particularly useful in type-2 diabetic patients with cardiovascular risk.
Indicated for adult type-2 diabetes mellitus inadequately controlled by lifestyle measures alone or in combination with metformin / other oral agents.

Mechanism of Action
Gliclazide is a second-generation sulphonylurea that stimulates pancreatic beta-cell insulin secretion by closing ATP-sensitive K+ channels (SUR1). It also has antioxidant and antiplatelet effects via free-radical scavenging and reduced platelet aggregation — providing additional benefit in diabetic vascular complications.
