- GI upset (reduced by lactobacillus), nausea, diarrhoea, mild rash.
- Rare: pseudomembranous colitis (still possible), hypersensitivity reactions.

- Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins.
- Severe penicillin allergy.
- Renal impairment.
- Severe immunosuppression (caution with live probiotics).
