Mechanism of Action
Aceclofenac inhibits cyclooxygenase, reducing prostaglandin synthesis — particularly useful in dysmenorrhoea where prostaglandin-driven uterine contractions cause pain. Drotaverine is a selective phosphodiesterase-4 inhibitor that raises intracellular cAMP in smooth muscle, producing direct non-anticholinergic relaxation of uterine, biliary, ureteric and intestinal smooth muscle without significant atropine-like side effects.
Dosage & Administration
- Adults: 1 tablet 2–3 times daily after food
- For dysmenorrhoea, start at first sign of pain
- Maximum 3 tablets in 24 hours
- Use for the shortest effective period
