Mechanism of Action

Dosage & Administration
- Children 6–12 years: 5 ml two to three times daily.
- Adults and adolescents: 10 ml two to three times daily.

Side Effects
- Mild drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, dry mouth.
- Rare: hypersensitivity, hallucinations (very high DXM doses), serotonin syndrome (combined with serotonergic drugs).
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity.

- Children under 6 years.
- Productive cough (suppressing cough may impair mucus clearance).
- Severe liver disease.
