Mechanism of Action

Dosage & Administration
- Adults: 10 mg three times daily before meals (max 30 mg/day;
- short-term <7 days per EMA recommendation).
Side Effects
- Hyperprolactinaemia (galactorrhoea, gynaecomastia, amenorrhoea), QT prolongation (short-term high-dose), GI cramps.
Contraindications
- Prolactinoma, QT prolongation, on QT-prolonging drugs, severe hepatic impairment, GI obstruction/haemorrhage.
