Mechanism of Action
Eplerenone selectively binds mineralocorticoid receptor (aldosterone receptor) in distal nephron, preventing aldosterone-mediated sodium reabsorption and potassium excretion. Significantly lower androgen/progesterone receptor binding than spironolactone — explaining cleaner endocrine profile.
Dosage & Administration
- Adults: 25 mg once daily;
- titrate to 50 mg based on response and serum potassium.

- Hyperkalaemia (monitor), hypotension, dizziness, fatigue.

- Severe hyperkalaemia.
