About Amoxirut-500 Capsule
Amoxirut-500 Capsule contains Amoxicillin 500 mg, the standard adult strength for broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic therapy. Mechanism of Action
Amoxicillin binds penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) on bacterial cell walls and inhibits the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan biosynthesis. This weakens the bacterial cell wall, causing osmotic lysis of actively dividing organisms. The aminopenicillin side chain extends activity to many gram-negative organisms beyond classical penicillin spectrum.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 500 mg three times daily (every 8 hours) for 5–7 days; longer for severe or complicated infections. Adjust dose in renal impairment. Take with or without food.
Side Effects
Nausea, diarrhoea, mild skin rash (more frequent than placebo). Less commonly: pseudomembranous colitis with prolonged use, allergic skin reactions. Rare: anaphylaxis, hepatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, interstitial nephritis, haematological abnormalities.

Hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins or any beta-lactam antibiotic. Infectious mononucleosis (high rate of rash). History of severe allergic reaction. Caution in renal impairment and on combined hormonal contraceptives.
