About Desowise Lotion
Desowise Lotion contains Desonide 0.05% w/v in a fluid lotion vehicle that spreads easily over large or hair-bearing areas. It provides the low-potency anti-inflammatory action of desonide in a cosmetically acceptable format.
It is particularly useful for scalp dermatitis, seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp and face, eczema affecting hair-bearing skin and inflammatory conditions where a cream would be too occlusive.

Mechanism of Action
Desonide is a low-potency non-fluorinated corticosteroid. It induces synthesis of lipocortin-1, inhibiting phospholipase A2 and suppressing the arachidonic-acid cascade — reducing prostaglandin and leukotriene production and dampening the inflammatory response in skin.
