About Accu-Spas Tablet
Accu-Spas Tablet from Trumac Healthcare combines Dicyclomine Hydrochloride 20 mg, a selective antimuscarinic antispasmodic, with Paracetamol 325 mg, a centrally acting analgesic-antipyretic. Together they provide rapid relief from smooth-muscle spasm and the associated pain that characterises conditions such as biliary colic, renal colic, intestinal cramping and primary dysmenorrhoea.
Dicyclomine acts directly on the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract and the uterus, relaxing the tone without affecting normal gut motility. Paracetamol inhibits prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system, reducing pain perception and lowering fever. The combination addresses both the cause (spasm) and the symptom (pain) in a single tablet, improving patient compliance compared with separate medications.
Accu-Spas is manufactured in Trumac’s WHO-GMP certified facilities and is available for PCD pharma franchise on a monopoly basis across India and for third-party manufacturing under your brand.
Indications
- Abdominal pain and cramps
- Biliary colic, intestinal colic and renal colic
- Primary dysmenorrhoea
- Irritable bowel syndrome with pain component
- Post-operative gastrointestinal spasm
Mechanism of Action
Dicyclomine produces antispasmodic action through a direct effect on smooth muscle and a non-selective antagonism of muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, decreasing GI motility and uterine contractility. Paracetamol exerts its analgesic and antipyretic effects by inhibiting central cyclo-oxygenase, raising the pain threshold and lowering the hypothalamic temperature set-point.
