About Etocam-PG Tablet
Etocam-PG Tablet combines Etoricoxib 60 mg with Pregabalin 75 mg SR (DCGI approved) — addressing mixed nociceptive and neuropathic pain. Particularly useful in chronic low back pain with radicular component, post-herpetic neuralgia with inflammation, and diabetic neuropathy with musculoskeletal pain.
Pregabalin binds alpha-2-delta calcium channel subunit, reducing release of excitatory neurotransmitters in CNS — addressing the neuropathic component that Etoricoxib alone cannot manage.
Manufactured by Trumac Healthcare under WHO-GMP. Available for monopoly-based PCD pharma franchise and third-party manufacturing.
Indications
- Chronic low back pain with radicular component
- Diabetic neuropathy with musculoskeletal pain
- Post-herpetic neuralgia with inflammation
- Fibromyalgia (adjunct)
Mechanism of Action
Etoricoxib is a selective COX-2 inhibitor that blocks prostaglandin synthesis at sites of inflammation while sparing the gastric mucosa-protective COX-1 — reducing GI toxicity compared with non-selective NSAIDs. Pregabalin binds alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels reducing excitatory neurotransmitter release.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 1 tablet once daily, may increase to twice daily.
Side Effects
GI upset (less than non-selective NSAIDs), hypertension, peripheral oedema, headache. Cardiovascular risk with long-term high-dose use. Dizziness, somnolence, weight gain (Pregabalin).
Contraindications & Precautions
Active peptic ulcer or GI bleeding. Severe heart failure. Uncontrolled hypertension. Severe hepatic/renal impairment. Pregnancy (third trimester). Aspirin-triggered asthma. Severe renal impairment (Pregabalin dose adjustment).
Storage
Store below 30 °C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.
