About Gabacam-AT 300 Tablet
Gabacam-AT 300 Tablet combines Gabapentin 300 mg with Amitriptyline 10 mg — two complementary mechanisms for neuropathic pain. Particularly useful when single-agent therapy is inadequate.
Amitriptyline blocks reuptake of serotonin and noradrenaline, augmenting descending inhibitory pain pathways. The low 10 mg dose minimises anticholinergic side effects while retaining analgesic action.

Mechanism of Action
Gabapentin is a structural analogue of GABA that binds the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in CNS, reducing release of excitatory neurotransmitters (glutamate, noradrenaline, substance P). This dampens hyperexcitability in neurons responsible for neuropathic pain and partial seizures. Amitriptyline blocks serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake and has sodium-channel-blocking analgesic effect.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 1 tablet at bedtime initially. Titrate gradually.
Side Effects
Dizziness, somnolence, peripheral oedema, weight gain, ataxia, blurred vision. Generally well tolerated; sedation dose-dependent. Anticholinergic effects (dry mouth, urinary retention, constipation), sedation.
