About Indafree-1.5 Tablet
Indafree-1.5 Tablet contains Indapamide 1.5 mg, a thiazide-like sulphonamide diuretic with antihypertensive effect at doses below those needed for significant diuresis. The 1.5 mg sustained-release dose provides smoother BP control with less metabolic disturbance than older thiazides.
It is indicated for essential hypertension as monotherapy or in combination, and for mild oedema of congestive heart failure. Major trials (HYVET) showed mortality benefit in elderly hypertensives.

Mechanism of Action
Indapamide inhibits the Na+/Cl- cotransporter in the distal convoluted tubule, promoting natriuresis. At antihypertensive doses (1.5 mg) it has minimal diuretic effect but produces vasodilation through reduced intracellular calcium in vascular smooth muscle and possibly direct potassium-channel activation.
